Quotations
The quotations below represent the opinions of respondents to the firm survey. These individuals are unrelated to InsideArch. Their opinions are based on their individual experiences and in no way reflect or represent the views of InsideArch or its employees. Other opinions, including contrary opinions, may exist."There is no one ideal position at Arrowstreet. Arrowstreet is made up of unique individuals with goals and ambitions of their own. Be vocal about what your goals are, what experiences you are looking for, what projects you want to be involved in, Arrowstreet is very responsive to helping employees achieve their ambitions and find their ideal position in the firm and their professional career."
"There is not really a best role or position as the question states, but multiple roles towards which to aspire. There are multiple principles in the firm and that seems like the penultimate, however, there are various roles on a project and which one is best is really based on personal preference. Some people enjoy technical details while others thrive on solving design problems."
"Arrowstreet does a wide range of work; Commercial, Residential, Hospitality, Large Mixed Use. Arrowstreet is an idea driven design firm that works hard, but plays hard too."
"Primarily large mixed-use projects with a combination of retail/ commercial, residential, office and hotel. The firm philosophy is centered around idea-driven design, which translates to rigorously following a design intent from initial award of the project through final construction completion. Though the design may change, this provides a test of the final solution."
"Arrowstreet is very responsive to matching employees with the professional experiences they are in need of and desire."
"For the most part, everyone at Arrowstreet is a team player. We help each other get the work done, we leave no man behind. With the wide variety of talents and skills in our office, there is always someone to help you with a task or software you are unfamiliar with. That is a very valuable aspect of Arrowstreet. In general Arrowstreet tries to organize teams so that everyone's talents are the best utilized, while also creating opportunities for employees to expand their skills and tap into hidden talents."
"As with any large group of people, there are those that by virtue of their personality type and your personality bring out your absolute best and encourage you to stretch your skill limits while there are others where you have to push yourself and sometimes feel that it is a struggle. I have never found a situation in life where everyone brings out my best. That being said, the management is fairly responsive to comments about one employee dragging another down in those rare instances where it happens."
"At Arrowstreet, we work hard but we also take time to play hard, as a firm. We have our intense deadlines, as most firms do, but we also take time out to socialize together, celebrate firm accomplishment, personal accomplishments. The play times make the working hard times a lot more manageable. In general, it is rare to watch the clock all day. Often the time sails by quicker than one might like. However, by virtue of the fact that it is work, there are tasks or slow periods where the day seems to drag by. People are usually happy to come into work and greet each other."
"Most days I feel energized and enthusiastic about working at Arrowstreet and on the days that I don't it is often not related to the work that I am doing, but rather, following external events or a large deadline. Too often the days sail by and I find myself wishing for more time."
"Arrowstreet Management meets often and have a lot of members all voicing different opinions, thus resulting in very successful management of the firm. They are open to our ideas and often solicit us for our thoughts and opinions. Arrowstreet management has an open door policy so there are ample opportunities to tell them what's on our minds."
"The management have been vocal about the effort in recent years to get more interesting and noteworthy projects as well as clients with whom we can form a lasting work connection. I think so long as they continue on this trend, I would not make many recommendations and leave it at a request to continue fulfilling their commitments."
