Quotations
The quotations below represent the opinions of respondents to the firm survey. These individuals are unrelated to InsideArch. Their opinions are based on their individual experiences and in no way reflect or represent the views of InsideArch or its employees. Other opinions, including contrary opinions, may exist.

"The great challenge is reaching the point where your technical, organizational, communication and design skills allow you to gain the trust that allows you to replace the partners on ever increasing project complexity. For those who can meet the challenge, there is no end to the opportunities."

"The firm does a large variety of unusual commercial projects that range from adaptive reuse of older buildings to a new 17 story high rise office building on Baltimore's waterfront. There is everything from space planning to master plans for developments. It emphasizes innovative ways to serve the client by looking for elegant solutions that will have a timeless value."

"The firm is growing and needs both architects and engineers who will take on the responsibilities of leading the next generation. The opportunity to make Arim AE your firm is definitely on the table as the current principals diminish their role."

"Like any place, various people have various strengths. Most projects are done by one staff member who has the skill to move the project forward with oversight by the principals. This approach puts a big responsibility on the architectural associate to wear many hats form client communication to design to CD's to contract administration. The strength of this approach is that almost nothing gets lost in the hand off from one department to another. On larger projects, lower skill interns may assist more experienced staff. But interns are also expected to handle simple projects on their own. The project team usually includes the in house engineers and people with superior interior design skills adding their expertise to project guided by a single associate with oversight by the principals and senior staff."

"The office emphasizes balance. It is a great place for people who love the work but who want to have a life outside of the office. Working over 40 hours is VERY discouraged. When you are there, you are usually on a tight schedule with little room for fooling around. Everybody including the principals sit in one large open space with the free interchange of ideas emphasized. But, there is no place to hide at ARIUM. There is quiet intensity and great focus. It is never dull."

"Please keep this amazing place going as long as possible."
